AU Mobile Dental Clinic

AU Mobile Dental Clinic Overview

Oral diseases remain a significant global public health challenge, particularly for individuals facing barriers like geographical, financial, or mobility constraints. To address this, we've proposed the AU Mobile Dental Clinic. This innovative clinic operates as a dental care unit on wheels, bringing comprehensive dental services directly to communities in need.

Introduced by Ajman University in 2018, the AU Mobile Dental Clinic serves as a crucial supplement to traditional oral healthcare, particularly benefiting the elderly and individuals with mobility limitations. Equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology, including dental chairs and x-ray units, this self-sufficient mobile van ensures high-quality care for all patients.

Unlike stationary clinics, our mobile dental unit travels across the country, offering education, examinations, and preventive and restorative treatments. By bridging the gap in access to essential oral healthcare, our initiative strives to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can maintain good oral health.

Scope

The mobile dental clinic offers a wide range of dental services to our beneficiaries, including but not limited to:

  • Oral health education and promotion.

  • Dental examinations and diagnostics.

  • Preventive services like cleanings, fluoride varnish, and dental sealants.

  • Restorative care such as simple fillings.

  • Simple extractions for emergencies.

  • Emergency root canal treatment (removal of pulp for pain relief), with referral to university clinics for further treatment, if needed.

Mission

Our mission is to provide primary & preventive dental services, enhancing oral health and promoting overall well-being. We aim to offer convenient and accessible dental care, fostering oral hygiene habits and practices by raising awareness of the importance of regular oral health care. We emphasize the interconnection between oral health, medical health, and overall well-being.

Target Beneficiaries:

  • Labour camps.

  • Charity School-based oral health programs.

  • Residential care facilities.
