Blood Donation Campaign

Dear AU Community,

The Office of Community Engagement, in collaboration with the Office of Medical Services, is pleased to announce the launch of the Blood Donation Campaign, taking place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Male Clinic, Male Side, Student Hub, Ground Floor. A privacy room will be available for female donors, providing a comfortable space for their participation.

Be the reason someone gets another chance at life. Donating blood not only saves lives but also offers health benefits, such as reducing the risk of heart disease.

We look forward to your participation!

Blood Donation Eligibility Criteria:

1. You must be in good health condition.

2. You must be between 18 and 65 years old.

3. You must weigh at least 55 kg.

4. Your blood pressure must be between 60/100 and 100/180 (mm Hg).

5. Your pulse rate must be between 50 and 100 pulses/minute.

6. Your body temperature must not exceed 37°C.

7. It is not advisable to donate blood during pregnancy or breast-feeding.

8. You will not be eligible if you have travelled within the past 3 months to areas where malaria is endemic (e.g. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, East Asia, and some African countries).

9.  Provide your Emirates ID.
